Senior Customer Service Representative

Summary of the Job:  The Senior Customer Service Representative (also known as the Senior Business Associate) is responsible for performing administrative duties for the Commercial Lines department, with a focus on Small Commercial Accounts.  The candidate will obtain knowledge of core insurance coverages and tasks necessary to ensure support for the department. This position reports to the Commercial Lines Small Commercial Team Supervisor

Essential Functions/Responsibilities:

  • Involvement in the renewal process (rating, marketing, preparing proposals, documentation follow-up, etc.)
  • Initial Quote Review
  • Prepare Account Stewardship Reports
  • Small Account Assignment (if license has been obtained)
  • Process change requests for all lines of coverage
  • Process Invoicing
  • Reviewing policies and detailing policies in system
  • Review and process policy endorsements and audits
  • Monitoring Carrier Download reports
  • Order Loss Runs – Request loss runs from insurance companies
  • Complete follow up letters/emails on pending items
  • Assist in providing additional services such as Consultative Services
  • Assist in preparation of spreadsheets, letters, and/or presentations  
  • Communication with clients, providing information such as, Certificates of Insurance, Evidences of Property, Auto ID Cards, Policy Documents, etc.
  • Attend Continuing Education Classes to maintain licensing requirement (if applicable)
  • All other duties as assigned

Required Minimum Education/Experience/Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred, but not required
  • Property & Casualty insurance industry experience required
  • Property & Casualty insurance license strongly recommended, but not required.  Will be required to obtain within 1 year of date of hire.
  • Good organizational and administrative skills
  • Excellent communication skills (including listening, speaking and writing)
  • Able to work effectively in a team atmosphere
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and Internet Explorer
  • Ability to adjust and learn insurance databases
