Commercial Lines Account Manager

Summary of the Job:  The Account Manager is responsible for servicing a book of business and handling new business as it is assigned to them. They will be responsible for the day to day servicing of their accounts as well as playing an integral part of the renewal process. This position reports to the Commercial Lines Service Team Supervisor.

Essential Functions/Responsibilities:

  • Process policy endorsements & audits as needed
  • Complete invoicing/billings
  • Manage Renewal process (gathering updates from the insured, updated applications, marketing, quote reviews, prepare proposals, renewal analysis, etc.)
  • Answer coverage questions from Clients
  • Interact with Clients, Carriers and other Third Parties as well as internally communicate with the Account Team
  • Review Contracts for insurance language and issue Certificates of Insurance, Evidences of Properties, etc. as needed
  • Review all policies and recognize coverage gaps
  • Be proactive in making recommendations on new coverages/coverage enhancements to clients
  • Attend accountability meetings with insured’s and present information as needed
  • Acquire working knowledge of all services offered to our clients (claims, risk control, consultative, etc.)
  • Attend Continuing Education Classes to maintain licensing requirements
  • Participate in Committees/Working groups as requested
  • Assist in training other individuals as needed
  • All other duties as assigned

Required Minimum Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business or a related field required
  • Property & Casualty license required
  • 0-3 years of Property & Casualty insurance experience required
  • Strong customer service skills a plus
  • Skills that illustrate detail-oriented characteristics
  • Good organizational and administrative skills
  • Excellent communication skills (including listening, speaking and writing)
  • A willingness and ability to learn
  • Able to work effectively in a team atmosphere
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and Internet Explorer
